Setup your coffee roaster in a lit area. A bright environment will help you to observe the color of the beans and decide whether or not the coffee beans are adequately roasted.
Use around 3 ounces of beans . Note,measurement also is based on the popcorn machine. You can certainly also put in the suggested amount inside the popper (i.e. if the popper recommends 4 ounces of corn,then put 4 ounces of coffee beans).
Put the beans into the popper and put the lid on.
Grab a container with a wide mouth and cover it using a wet paper towel or a damp washcloth.
Place the container right by the opening of the popcorn popper to capture the chaff.
Follow the directions of the popper manufacturer when you roast the coffee beans. In general,you should await about 4-7 minutes but constantly keep examining the color of the beans.
Take the beans off prior to it reaches your preferred roasting level. Put them in a colander and toss the beans.
If you like a light roast coffee,as soon as the coffee starts to expand,remove the beans from the popper.
If you like it medium roast,just let the beans roast until the second crackling noise and then you can take it off.
Simply leave the beans in the popper a bit more until you’ve reached its preferred roast if you choose a dark roast.
